Friday night February 26th we held our second Fabulous Event.  A very small group of us showed up at Amphora Pottery Studio for a few hours of creativity and laughter. As the group starts to grow and more ladies figure out we are more than just a fan page I hope more of you will step out of your comfort zones and come join us.

Let me tell you why I started the Fabulous Women of Middle Georgia.

The past year and a half has been a pretty tumultuous time in my life personally and professionally. With 2010 looming closer and closer I knew I had to get out of the rut I was in. It is so easy to shut yourself up in the house with familiar surroundings, safe in your own world but that isn’t the way I wanted to live my life. So I started brainstorming. I knew there had to be other women like me who want to get out and have fun a meet other women in a safe environment that allows you to talk with one another and really have some fun. So in the beginning of January I started the Facebook page “Fabulous Women of Middle Georgia”. It took a few trials and errors before I figured out how to start the fan page but it wasn’t long before the page had a few fans.

Our first event was at Winestyles Macon and with about 65 fans on the page only 2 showed up. But between the 3 of us and the rest of the folks who were at Winestyles that night, who were not part of our group, we had a great time.

Plans were made for the 2nd event at Amphora Pottery Studio on February 26th and the page grew by leaps and bounds.  This page was created and logo was designed.

I realize that many people join sites just to join but I really want the Fabulous Women of Middle Georgia to be a group that will support each other, a group you can turn to when you are in need of affirmation, when you need some friends to turn to during a rough patch in the road, when you need someone who will just listen and not judge.

We are all different. We come in all different sizes, heights, colors, backgrounds and social status. I think it’s important to leave that at the door when we come together. We so often limit our friendships when we only look for someone who is just like us. There are some pretty Fabulous women all over Middle Georgia and I want to encourage you all to come out of those neighborhoods you have ensconced yourself in and find out what other folks have to offer.

If you have some ideas for events and get togethers I want to hear them. There are a lot of women owned businesses in this area, let us hear about you. If you would like us to have an event at your place let me know.

We had a great time Friday at Amphora. There were 6 brave souls who came out to have fun and we did! It was a few hours of leaving everything else behind. To share some laughter, get to know one another and be Fabulous.

SoI hope as we continue to grow you will stop being just a fan but also a participant. Make plans to join us March 11th at Macon Frames LLC on Vineville Ave in the ChiChester Shopping Center. Bring an item you would like to have framed. It doesn’t have to be a photo, it can be anything you would like to see hanging on your wall. We’ll have some food and drinks and most importantly we will once again being laughing and getting to know the Fabulous Women of Middle Georgia1

This site is dedicated to the Fabulous Women of Middle Georgia. It is a place were we can connect with, share with, get together with and support one another. We are in our infancy but growing fast. We have close to 400 fans our our Facebook page, have hosted one event and our February Event is coming up on February 26th Amphora Pottery Studio.
